Summary
Harrick Gallow spends a century as the strongest warrior
alive, though only the elites know he exists. He kills dragons when they attack the countryside, defeats
necromancer hosts of hundreds of thousands of undead,
slaughters beast tides that threaten to swallow the kingdom
whole, and saves humanity time and again. He breaks past the
impossible Level 99 barrier and reaches Level 105, something
long believed to be unattainable. Recently, he kills the Demon Lord. Except, unlike before,
no one has an inkling that the Demon Lord is dead yet. He wants to keep it that way. Harrick Gallow is tired of politics, wars, endless
campaigns, and people looking at him like a weapon and
treating him like one. He is tired of the rot that fills the
courts of kings and emperors. More than anything, he wants to
rest and stop marching toward death and destruction. So he does exactly that. Harrick Gallow, now Garrick Hallow, leaves the known world
behind. He abandons the capitals and retires to a frontier
town, where he opens a repair and herb shop and maybe…
just maybe builds a family for himself. Yet that is far easier said than done when you are the
strongest person alive. Being ordinary is not something he is used to. Worse, trouble has a habit of following him wherever he
goes. This time, though, he intends to keep his identity
hidden while protecting his loved ones, his neighbors, a dog
so loyal it practically leaks devotion, and a cat of
unquestionable royalty that has claimed a broken crate as its
throne—and Garrick’s shoulder whenever the crate
is unavailable.
